For legal professionals

A first pass on any contract, in minutes

For solicitors, in-house teams and paralegals who want a head start on the reading. LegalSling maps and explains every clause, links each issue to its paragraph and points out what the document leaves out, so your time goes on judgement.

A structured first pass, ready when you are

LegalSling gives solicitors, in-house counsel, paralegals and legal operations teams a head start on the reading. Upload a contract and, in minutes, every clause is mapped and explained from both sides, the issues are linked to the paragraphs they come from, the governing law is quoted from the text, and gaps in the document are called out. The judgement stays yours.

Every clause mapped, every issue sourced

The clause list shows the whole agreement at once: which way each clause leans, what’s flagged as a red flag or worth a look, and the paragraph it comes from. Open any clause for the plain-English reading, what it means for each party, the key terms and questions to raise.

The overview puts the most serious points first, with the key facts beside them: term and renewal, termination rights, payment, liability caps, insurance and post-term restrictions.

Where it fits in your work

A careful reading in minutes is useful wherever contracts queue up for attention.

Triage what comes in

See quickly which agreements are routine and which need your time, with the most serious points first and each one linked to its clause.

Catch what’s missing

Schedules referred to but not attached, blanks and placeholders, clauses that contradict each other, tracked changes, and hidden text in the file are all pointed out.

A second reading

Compare your own review against an independent, clause-by-clause reading from both sides, and see where the two differ.

Explanations clients understand

Plain-English explanations of each clause and what it means for each party, a useful starting point when you walk a client through their contract.

Governing law, quoted

Taken only from the contract’s own wording, with the words quoted and linked. If the contract doesn’t say, it’s marked as not stated, and clues are labelled as clues.

Clients who arrive prepared

Business owners use LegalSling to brief their lawyer. A brief sets out the document, the flags, their notes and their questions, so the first conversation starts from the points that matter.

Built to be checked, not taken on trust

Every quote shown for a red flag, a key term or the governing law is looked up in the contract’s text, and a quote that can’t be found isn’t shown as fact. Every paragraph reference must exist, and clauses can’t overlap.

The contract is treated as text to explain, never as instructions: text aimed at an AI reviewer, such as a hidden request to call the contract fair, is flagged as a warning. Read more about how LegalSling checks its work.

Before you use it with client documents

Documents are visible only to the account that uploaded them, stored encrypted, and used only to produce the analysis. To create it, the text is processed by Anthropic’s Claude AI. Any document, or the whole account, can be deleted at any time.

  • Check that using an AI tool on a matter fits your firm’s policies and your duties of confidentiality to the client.
  • Read how LegalSling handles documents, including where they’re stored and who processes them.
  • Treat the analysis as a first reading to check, not as advice: it can misread context or miss something.

What LegalSling isn’t

LegalSling isn’t a law firm and doesn’t give legal advice. It explains what a contract says and flags points to consider, but it doesn’t replace professional judgement, and it doesn’t promise it has caught everything. Responsibility for advice given to a client stays with the professional who gives it.

Frequently asked questions

Can solicitors and in-house lawyers use LegalSling?

Yes, as a structured first pass. It maps and explains every clause, links each issue to its paragraph, quotes the governing law from the text and points out gaps in the document. Before using it on client documents, check that it fits your firm’s policies on AI tools and your duties of confidentiality, and read how documents are handled.

Does LegalSling replace a legal review?

No. It gives you a careful first reading to check, not advice. It doesn’t tell anyone whether to sign or what to negotiate, it can misread context or miss something, and responsibility for advice stays with the professional who gives it. Its value is in getting you to the points that need your judgement sooner.

Which laws is it built for?

Contracts governed by the law of England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, EU member states and US states. The governing law is taken only from the contract’s own wording and quoted; if the contract doesn’t say, it’s marked as not stated. Contracts under other laws are still explained, with general context only.

How are uploaded documents handled?

Documents are visible only to the account that uploaded them, stored encrypted and used only to produce the analysis. To create the analysis, the text is processed by Anthropic’s Claude AI. Any document, or the whole account, can be deleted at any time. Read the details.

How long does an analysis take?

It depends on the length of the contract and whether it’s a scan, which has to be read from the page images first. You can watch its progress, and the analysis carries on if you close the page, so you can come back to it later.
